RESUMO

To analyze the usage and loss of the COVID-19 vaccine in ten districts of Suzhou city from December 18, 2020 to April 30, 2021.The results showed the loss rate was 0.222‰ in Suzhou city. The loss rate of pre-filled packaging COVID-19 vaccine was higher than that of vial packaging. The loss rate of 40 packaging was the lowest in vial packaging. The loss rate of all kinds of COVID-19 vaccine in stable inoculation unit was the lowest. It is recommended to distribute 40 vial packaging COVID-19 vaccine for centralized vaccination to reduce the loss of COVID-19 vaccine.

RESUMO

Objective: To explore pyrrolizidine alkaloid-induced hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome (PA-HSOS) severity grading to predict the prognostic value for PA-HSOS patients treated with transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS). Methods: Clinical data of patients with PA-HSOS who were critically ill or had ineffective drug treatment and underwent TIPS treatment from December 2013 to September 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. PA-HSOS severity grading criteria in adult was quoted, revised and defined from the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT). The survival time, the rate of shunt dysfunction and the incidence of postoperative hepatic encephalopathy in different severity groups after TIPS were compared. Univariate Cox or Binomial Logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the impact of each variable. Variables with P < 0.1 were regarded as statistically significant variables for the prognosis, and were introduced into Cox or Binomial Logistic regression hierarchical regression analysis as controlled covariates. PA-HSOS severity grading was analyzed as dummy variables. Results: A total of 102 patient data were collected, and the median follow-up time was 14.52 months. The difference in survival time of patients with different severity levels was statistically significant (P = 0.023). The mortality risk in moderate patients was 1.575 times higher than that of mild patients (95%CI: 0.216-11.457, P = 0.654). The mortality risk of severe and very severe patients was 7.424 times higher than that of mild patients (95% CI: 1.612-34.197, P = 0.010). There was no statistically significant difference in postoperative hepatic encephalopathy recurrence rate and shunt dysfunction rate (P > 0.05). Conclusion: PA-HSOS severity grading has prognostic value for PA-HSOS patients receiving TIPS treatment, and can be used as an important reference for guiding the timing of TIPS intervention.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: We aim to investigate the expression of long non-coding RNA-LINP1 (lncRNA LINP1) in prostate cancer (PCa) and its potential mechanism. PATIENTS AND METHODS: The expression of lncRNA LINP1 in 74 pairs of PCa and normal tissues were detected by quantitative Real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR); the relationship between its expression and the pathological features and prognosis of PCa was also analyzed. The expression of lncRNA LINP1 in the PCa cell line was verified by qRT-PCR. Knockdown of LINP1 was constructed by transfection of small interfering RNA (siRNA) in two PCa cell lines (Lncap and PC-3). The biological function of LINP1 was evaluated by cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay, colony formation assay, migration and invasion assay, respectively. Finally, the potential mechanism of LINP1 was explored by Western blot and qRT-PCR. RESULTS: qRT-PCR results showed a higher expression of LINP1 in PCa than that of normal tissues. Compared with PCa patients with a lower expression of LINP1, those with higher expression had a higher tumor stage, lymphatic metastasis and distant metastasis rate, and lower overall survival rate. Proliferation, invasion and metastasis in cells transfected with si-LINP1 were remarkably decreased than those transfected with negative control (si-NC). Moreover, the expressions of the key proteins in the p53 signaling pathway, including p53, PTEN, Akt and CDK2 were remarkably decreased in cells after knockdown of LINP1. In addition, a negative correlation between LINP1 and p53 was confirmed by rescue experiments. CONCLUSIONS: Up-regulated LINP1 in PCa was correlated with a higher PCa stage, lymphatic metastasis, distant metastasis, and worse prognosis. Furthermore, LINP1 could promote the proliferative, migratory and invasive abilities of PCa by regulating the p53-signaling pathway.

RESUMO

We report a large spin Hall angle observed in vanadium films sputter-grown at room temperature, which have small grain size and consist of a mixture of body centered tetragonal (bct) and body centered cubic (bcc) structures. The spin Hall angle is as large as θ V = -0.071 ± 0.003, comparable to that of platinum, θ Pt = 0.076 ± 0.007, and is much larger than that of bcc V film grown at 400 °C, θ V_bcc = -0.012 ± 0.002. Similar to ß-tantalum and ß-tungsten, the sputter-grown V films also have a high resistivity of more than 200 µΩ∙cm. Surprisingly, the spin diffusion length is still long at 16.3 nm. This finding not only indicates that specific crystalline structure can lead to a large spin Hall effect but also suggests 3d light metals should not be ruled out in the search for materials with large spin Hall angle.

RESUMO

Chronic obstructive parotitis (COP) is a common disease of the parotid gland. A total of 104 patients with COP were identified and randomized into a treatment group (52 cases) and a control group (52 cases). All patients underwent sialography and salivary gland scintigraphy (SGS) examinations before surgery. The patients in the treatment group received chymotrypsin combined with gentamicin via interventional sialendoscopy to irrigate the duct, and the control group received gentamicin alone. All patients were asked to record their pain on a visual analogue scale (VAS) before treatment and at 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months after surgery. The VAS score for pain intensity was decreased at 1 week post-treatment in both groups (P<0.05). Compared to the control group, the VAS score was lower in the treatment group at 1 week, 2 weeks, and 1 month post-treatment (P<0.05). The 6-month postoperative SGS results showed improved uptake and excretion in both groups (P<0.05). The treatment group exhibited higher scores for postoperative SGS excretion than the control group (P<0.05). The administration of chymotrypsin combined with gentamicin by sialendoscopy is effective for the treatment of non-stone-related COP and specifically improves the excretion function of the parotid gland.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the therapeutic effects of erythropoietin sustained-release gelatin hydrogel microspheres (EPO-GHM) on a murine model of hindlimb ischemia and related mechanisms. METHODS: Fifty two ten weeks old male C57BL/6J mice were assigned to 5 groups: sham-operated group (the right femoral artery suture was passed through the right femoral artery but not tied, n=8); saline group (right femoral artery ligation and intramuscular injection of saline at a dose of 4 ml/kg into the right hind limb, n=12); EPO group(right femoral artery ligation and intramuscular injection of EPO at a dose of 5 000 IU/kg into the right hind limb, n=12), empty GHM group (right femoral artery ligation and intramuscular injection of empty GHM at a dose of 4 ml/kg into the right hind limb, n=8); EPO-GHM group(right femoral artery ligation and intramuscular injection of EPO-GHM at a dose of 5 000 IU/kg into the right hind limb, n=12). The blood flow ratio of ischemic limb (right)/nonischemic limb (left) was measured using a laser Doppler perfusion imager. After 8 weeks, immunohistochemical analysis were used to evaluate the vessel density (vessel density of CD31 positive), arteriole density(vessel density of α-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA) positive) and muscle area(HHF35 positive area). The proliferating index of vessels was evaluated by double immunofluorescent labeling to evaluate effect of EPO-GHM on angiogenesis of ischemia limb. Western blot was used to evaluate the protein expression of EPO receptor, protein kinase B(AKT), p-AKT, endothelial nitric oxide synthase(eNOS), p-eNOS and matrix metalloproteinase 2(MMP-2). RESULTS: (1) Eight weeks later, the blood flow ratio of ischemic limb/nonischemic limb was significantly higher in the EPO-GHM group compared with other groups(0.810±0.080, 0.563±0.051, 0.570±0.056 and 0.561±0.052 respectively, all P<0.05). (2) CD31 antibody positive and α-SAM antibody positive densities were higher in the EPO-GHM group compared with other groups(P<0.01 or 0.05). (3)HHF35 positive area in saline group, EPO group, empty GHM group and EPO-GHM group were smaller than that of sham-operated group(all P<0.05). HHF35 positive area in saline group, EPO group, empty GHM group and EPO-GHM group were similar(all P>0.05). (4)The proliferating index of vessels was higher in the EPO-GHM group compared with other groups(P<0.01 or 0.05). (5) Compared with other groups, the protein levels of EPO receptor, AKT, p-AKT, p-eNOS and MMP-2 were significantly higher in EPO-GHM group(P<0.01 or 0.05) and level of eNOS was similar among five groups(P>0.05). CONCLUSION: RESULTS from present study suggest EPO-GHM could improve blood perfusion of ischemia limb in mice through increasing capillary and arteriolar densities and these beneficial effects are possibly mediated by EPOR up-regulation and AKT/p-eNOS/MMP-2 signaling pathway activation.

RESUMO

We use electrical detection, in combination with microwave transmission, to investigate both resonant and nonresonant magnon-photon coupling at room temperature. Spin pumping in a dynamically coupled magnon-photon system is found to be distinctly different from previous experiments. Characteristic coupling features such as modes anticrossing, linewidth evolution, peculiar line shape, and resonance broadening are systematically measured and consistently analyzed by a theoretical model set on the foundation of classical electrodynamic coupling. Our experimental and theoretical approach paves the way for pursuing microwave coherent manipulation of pure spin current via the combination of spin pumping and magnon-photon coupling.

RESUMO

Platinum (Pt) metal, being nonmagnetic and with a strong spin-orbit coupling interaction, has been central in detecting the pure spin current and establishing most of the recent spin-based phenomena. Magnetotransport measurements, both electrical and thermal, conclusively show strong ferromagnetic characteristics in thin Pt films on the ferromagnetic insulator due to the magnetic proximity effects. The pure spin current phenomena measured by Pt, including the inverse spin Hall and the spin Seebeck effects, are thus contaminated and not exclusively established.

RESUMO

A comprehensive study of the defects and impurity (Co)-driven ferromagnetism is undertaken in the oxide semiconductors: TiO(2), ZnO and CeO(2). The effect of magnetic (Co(2+)) and non-magnetic (Cu(2+)) impurities in conjunction with defects, such as oxygen vacancies (V(o)), have been thoroughly investigated. Analyses of the x-ray diffraction (XRD) and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) data reveal the incorporation of cobalt in the lattice, with no signature of cobalt segregation. It is shown that oxygen vacancies are necessary for the ferromagnetic coupling in the Co-doped oxides mentioned above. The possible exchange mechanisms responsible for the ferromagnetism are discussed in light of the energy levels of dopants in the host oxides. In addition, Co and Cu co-doped TiO(2) samples are studied in order to understand the role of point defects in establishing room temperature ferromagnetism. The parameters calculated from the bound magnetic polaron (BMP) and Jorgensen's optical electronegativity models offer a satisfactory explanation of the defect-driven ferromagnetism in the doped/co-doped samples.

RESUMO

Room temperature ferromagnetism in polycrystalline Co(x)Ce(1-x)O(2-δ) (0.001≤x≤0.10) bulk samples has been investigated. Annealing in the forming gas transformed the as-prepared paramagnetic into a ferromagnetic insulating material with over two orders of magnitude enhancement (from 3.7 × 10(-2) to 1.24 µ(B)/Co) in the magnetization. Structural characterization of both the as-prepared and H(2)-treated samples showed a single phase material. The incorporation of Co with the formation of oxygen vacancies in the oxide lattice was revealed by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The presence of oxygen vacancies is indicated by the existence of mixed valence states of cerium (Ce(4+) and Ce(3+)) in the high resolution XPS 3d spectrum. The role of the donor defects (oxygen vacancies) has been verified through the removal of oxygen vacancies. The ferromagnetic insulating ground state has been explained in terms of the interaction of the F(+) center and 3d magnetic cations. The connection between magnetic properties, electronic structure of the magnetic impurity and donor defect has been established. First principle calculations have been performed using the full potential linearized augmented plane wave method within the density functional theory (DFT) framework; these support our experimental findings. Both the experiment and calculations reinforced the crucial role of oxygen vacancies.

RESUMO

Millions of workers in the United States are recurrently exposed to solvents throughout their working lives. Members of this class of compounds share the ability to dissolve waxes, fats, and oils as their common characteristic. This review offers the health practitioner a practical approach to the diagnosis, management, and prevention of solvent-related disorders that result from exposures to these compounds in the workplace. A description of commonly used solvents is provided, along with a brief review of the literature that documents their acute and chronic effects on health.

RESUMO

The present study describe the role of copper zinc superoxide dismutase (CuZnSOD) in the short-term treatment of experimental colitis induced with 8% acetic acid. The colonic mucosa damage index in the group of 10 rats treated intravenously with 30,000 U/kg CuZnSOD was significantly decreased when compared with the control group (10 rats) treated with normal saline (0.4 +/- 0.6 vs 1.5 +/- 0.5 p < 0.01). Assay of SOD in the control group was 0.3 +/- 0.08 and in the SOD treated group, SOD was significantly increased to 0.8 +/- 0.1, glutathione peroxidase was 44.8 +/- 6.3 in the control and 56.4 +/- 9.1 in the treated group (difference not significant). Both myeloperoxidase activity (14.0 +/- 2.5 vs 22.7 +/- 2.5) and lipid peroxidation products (13.8 +/- 2.9 vs 52.9 +/- 9.6) were significantly lower in the colonic mucosa of the SOD treated group in comparison with the control. These results indicate that the anti-inflammatory effects of CuZnSOD were mainly the removal of oxygen free radicals and indirectly the prevention of lipid peroxidation. This study suggests that CuZnSOD may be beneficial in the treatment of patients with ulcerative colitis. However, our experimental data suggest that this treatment will not have strong effects on the control of severe ulcerative colitis.
